Tuition

Tuition is based on the number of hours per week a student is enrolled.  Tuition is quoted on a monthly basis and is due on the first class of each calendar month.  No refunds will be given.  A 10% family discount is available for families with two or more students. A discount is also available if tuition is paid for the whole semester in the first month of the semester (September or January). Tuition is due by the 10th of the month.

Dress

Leotard and tights are required for all dance classes, along with the appropriate shoes.  Any color is acceptable. Please note – tights must be worn for all dance classes (even when it gets hot).  Leotard and trunks (or underwear) are required for tumbling and acrobatic gymnastics classes.  Students may wear socks, or bare feet.   Hair should always be tied securely back from the face, as not to interfere with dancing or tumbling.

Please note - Dance shoes should never be worn on the street, and students should wear pants, shorts, or a skit that covers their leotard and tights when coming to and going from the studio. This is an important rule, as it teaches how dancers and tumblers should conduct themselves.
Watching Class

Parents are welcome to watch class at any time.  There is a comfortable room with a one-way mirror for observation.  Please do not enter the studio while class is in session. No food or drink (except water) is allowed in the studio.

Perfect Attendance/Make-up Classes

Perfect attendance awards are given at the end of our dance year (in June).   In order to get a perfect attendance award the student must attend all regularly scheduled classes since enrollment.  If a class is missed, the student is encouraged to make-up the class in any other class of the same level.  All missed classes must be made-up by May 21st.

Holidays and Bad Weather

We will take the following Holidays: Thanksgiving (Wednesday through Saturday), Christmas and New Years (usually about two weeks), Spring Break (Same as Columbia Public Schools), and Memorial Day.  These holidays will be posted on the studio calendar.

It is sometimes necessary to close the studio due to bad weather.  If Columbia Public Schools are closed, then the studio will be closed.  This rule only applies to bad weather, and not school holidays.  If your classes are on Saturday, please call the studio after 9:00 a.m. to find out if class is in session.

Information regarding school closings will be posted in the Columbia Dance Academy Forum.
