Hello

Thanks for your interest in Columbia Dance Academy.  Enclosed you will find the fall/winter Schedule.  I have also enclosed a brochure, tuition schedule, Columbia Acro & Tumbling Team information/registration form, dance &/or tumble registration form, and statement of policies. I hope this letter and the enclosed information will answer all your questions about Columbia Dance Academy.

About the Schedule/Class Placement:

Classes are based on both age and ability.  If you are enrolling in a 3 or 4-year old class or a Level 1 class, please enroll based on the student’s age as of September.  Level 1 class is offered for 5 and 6 year olds, and ages 7 and up.  If the class is too hard or too easy, I will discuss this with you, and may want to move your child to another class.  Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5 are based on ability.  If you would like to enroll in Levels 2 or higher, please give me a call to discuss proper placement. If you are interested in the acro team class, please see the enclosed information letter.  Adult movement classes are available – movement and Sculpt & Strengthen. Adult tap is not in the schedule at this time, however it may be added.  Please let me know if you are interested in Adult Tap.  We have also have a poms class.
Please note the schedule is subject to change based on enrollment.
Classes start on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

The registration fee is $20.00 for one child and $10 per child for each additional child. (Example: three children would be $40.00.)  This is a one-time, non-refundable fee, and will hold your place in the class.  Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and class sizes are limited, so please send your registration form in as soon as possible.  Please fill out the registration form completely.  Please be assured you are registered for the class you signed up for unless I call you.  If you would like confirmation by email, please indicate this on the registration form.  Confirmation will not be sent unless requested.

What to Wear:
Dancers are required to wear leotard and tights and the appropriate shoes – ballet or tap shoes.  Tumblers and acrobatic gymnastics students wear leotard and trunks (bare feet).  For all of your shoe needs, there is a Capezio outlet called The Dance Closet at 909 Cherry Street.  They have a list of the shoes I recommend, just tell them you’ll be attending Columbia Dance Academy, and they will be happy to help you.  They also carry leotards, tights, dance bags, etc.
